Istorage has been an incredible storage facility for my business and personal storage needs. Joe, the manager of this facility is more than accommodating and extremely trustworthy. I cannot recommend this facility enough!

Great experience from beginning to end. I had an emergent need for storage while my mom was in the hospital and again after she passed and the staff went above and beyond to get me the right size storage needed for each job. They even offered to assist with lifting when I had no help! They also remember everyone by name! I don't know how many people come through that place daily but I will say in the year that I was using their facilities it was nothing but pleasant experiences and they always called me by name! Great place! & great staff!

Joe does an excellent job running this storage facility! He has been so helpful to me and my family, and he has gone above and beyond! I highly recommend iStorage! This air-conditioned building is so big, you can drive your moving truck into it, so you can move in an air-conditioned space!

iStorage is a strong 4.5 stars for me. It’s conveniently located on 280, but it’s tucked off the hwy in such a way that no one really knows it exists. 🥷 There were several sizes to choose from; so I suggest you actually visit the facility. The buildings are clean and kept at a comfortable temp even while moving. In this economy, I like it when a company shows that they appreciate my business. Joe, the office manager, gave me a tour of the facility and helped me find a spacious unit to fit my 3 bedroom apt at a very budget friendly price. The coolest part was that you can actually DRIVE YOUR MOVING 🛻 INTO THE BUILDING. This was huge time saver. Overall I felt really secure. .5 deduction pertains to all storage facilities and the unexpected inflation of rent. Joe reassured me that they would let me know of any changes in advance. I got the first month rent for free; so this was still a win in my book. iStorage gets 🤑 money well spent.

I have had a storage space here for a year which has helped with three daughters moving in and out of dorms and apartments. Had one get married and one move off to middle Tennessee so no longer needed a 10x20. Joe and Carlton recognize this and recommended moving to a smaller space which saved big time $$$$. Some of the items were pretty big and Joe / Carlton helped with advice and support of the movement of these items. I was totally surprised. Did not expect this. Do not meet people like this anymore!!! So, Store your stuff here. The place is safe and secure and the Managers care about the people. I was there once and a Lady ( with two kids ) had a car that wouldn't start. Joe and Carlton helped her get back on the road. Wow!

This is a very easy place to have a storage unit. The management is always available for questions. They exceed expectations!

Arrived on a Saturday afternoon to get into my unit and found a large red padlock was on my unit gate. I have already paid in one month in advance. Problem solved, I appreciate the management on staff with a quick response and a apology along with a $20 credit. What a great place , Praise the Lord!

iStorage is simply the best storage place in the Birmingham area! With your secret code, you can drive right into the climate-controlled warehouse and load/unload! The managers, Joe & Carlton, were exceptionally helpful, ensuring we could find our unit and understood the access procedures. Security was excellent, the price is reasonable, and the place is kept clean. I highly recommend this well-kept secret for anyone needing temporary inside or outside storage!

Over the past 20+ years I have had at least 1 storage unit at the 280 location of what is now iStorage. I've had as many as 4 units at one time (twice now) and thru multiple family and corporate owners. But throughout, I've consistently had at least one unit here since around 2001. The people who work in the office on this property for iStorage are the best - fantastic guys who hands down are the best group yet. They really care about their customers. They are willing to help however they can, are quick to respond to any request, and they are friendly, while maintaining an appropriate level of professionalism. They also REALLY KNOW their property and tenants, they don't just "stay in the office". They have great ideas to help problem solve any issue. In fact they are the SINGULAR reason that I still have ANY units at this location at all. We recently moved, and have more than doubled the distance (and vastly increased travel time), away from iStorage. In fact there are ELEVEN other self-storage options that are significantly closer to my new residence, many at a better price, and one where I already have a unit (only bc iStorage had nothing that size available at that time) - although I did look to compare, there was NO question where I wanted to remain... In full disclosure, I hope I won't need the full four units I have now for a long time, but as long as I need ANY unit it will be at iStorage. The only reason I would move out would be if these guys move on...

This is my first experience renting a storage unit. I chose istorage primarily bc it is a climate controlled facility. After meeting Carlton and Joe I knew it was the place. Both fellas were super nice and very helpful. The facility, itself, is very clean. They have carts and ramps to load units on the second floor. I love the fact that you can pull into the building to load/unload and exit much like a drive thru, except secured by coded locks. The overall process was easy, except for physically loading/unloading my "stuff". That is always work! Lol! I would definitely recommend IStorage to my friends and family.

I seriously can’t believe my unit is only $21 a month. The facility is very clean and nice and my 5x10 is very accessible and in terrific condition. Highly highly recommend. I previously was using a different facility down the road that was only slightly bigger and over 5x the cost AND not climate controlled.

Great service

This is a very cool spot. Everybody is very nice and laid back. I can’t believe I’m saying this but this storage space has loads of charm- from the constant sound of dogs in the adjoining doggy spa to the weird old cars sitting outside. Half the place is built on a labyrinth of plywood and the other half looks like a haunted office complex. I’ve used a lot of storage spaces before, and this is by far the coolest. Do keep in mind: access is limited to the hours of 6am-10pm. I’m supposed to vacate in 3 days and I’m pretty bummed!

Everything was excellent from the online registration to moving in. Allen the office manager was very helpful and informative. The place is clean and very secure. Really impressed with this storage company. It's a gem of a location. I highly recommend.

Great rental experience so far! Allen knows his property inside and out. He made it convenient for me to take care of setting up the rental and making the initial payment over the phone, sign paperwork online, gave me a property tour the following day, and was happy to have me stop in for the tour "whenever it worked best" for me during the afternoon. The unit I have is clean and easily accessible via the building ramp system (no stairs!), as long as I don't overload the cart. The process of going up the ramp with an overloaded & too heavy cart is not fun when the person pushing the cart is 5-foot-nothing & weighs about half of what got loaded onto the cart! Oops...I won't do that again. Advice to all: Put about half of what you think you can push up the ramp on your cart for the first trip up. Trust me, about halfway up is a bad time to decide you out too much on there 🤔 The only things that I wish iStorage offered are 24 hour unit access and light fixtures inside all units (or a power receptacle to bring our own light to plug in) but I guess I can't have everything I want and at least I have a very bright rechargeable lantern. I'm a night-time person who works ever-changing retail hours, so I find myself thinking of things I need out of storage at 2am semi-frequently, so the 24 hour access would be great for me. Ultimately, I am impressed so far with the drive-in side facility, the unit, the reasonable pricing, cleanliness of the building, and management's professionalism. Hopefully, the trend of almost perfect will continue! Thanks to Allen & iStorage for making it easy to store my things!

Great place for storage. They offer many unit sizes, and the options are perfect for whatever needs to be stored - BONUS: some units are longer than they are deep, so you can actually see what is in your unit after you get your things moved in. Another of the many great things here: There are no stairs in the facility...there are also no elevators. Instead, there are wide ramps from level to level. They also provide flat carts (like home improvement stores have in the building materials and lawn/garden areas) to get your stuff up a level or two, as needed. Also - this is a big thing! - imagine this...You need to put those pictures of grandma that your cousin wanted to see back into your storage unit now that cousin has gone back home after visiting. You've been putting off the task for long enough so you decided today is the day!. But it's raining on the one day that you have time to deal with re-filing the photos...BUT RAIN IS NOT AN ISSUE HERE. Why? Because you have a code that opens the big roll-up door on the end of the building! So, instead of getting grandma's photos wet in the seemingly endless downpour outside while dashing from car to door like you would at those other storage rental places, you just drive your car right inside the building, park along either side of the driving lane, and head to your unit! The only downside I have found is that I don't have 24 hour access. I suggested to the property manager that a "VIP Access Club" that would give members 24 hour access to their unit could be created. The perk to the property/company is that it would generate additional revenue through the Club membership cost, a small monthly fee. the member perk is having 24/7 access. With the units all inside the building, security codes required for building entry, and the existing 24 hour camera surveillance of the property inside and out, there seems very little reason to not offer 24 hour access to renters who want such access. Other than that, I love this place so far: reasonable monthly rates, a clean facility, clean restrooms, and a property manager who will do what he can to accommodate potential, new, and existing customers. Property Manager Allen was extremely helpful during the rental process, easy to talk to, very personable & friendly, and he never made me feel as if he had other things to do or that he would rather be elsewhere than giving me a facility tour after I rented my unit. I wish all property managers were as helpful as Allen! Overall, this iStorage location gets a grade of an A from me. I highly recommend this location. (The only thing that would being that up to an A+ is offering 24 hour access, with or without a fee.)

Go see Allen if you need a place to store your items! The Inverness location off of Hwy 280 is the best. I felt like my items were safe and secure. I love the fact that you could drive into the building, so moving in the elements was not an issue. I stored my items for 8 months and check out was a breeze. Just an overall great place!

Great experience with iStorage! We leased a unit for about a year and half before we moved out of the area and they made the entire life cycle (sign-up, move-in, maintain, move-out) so simple and easy. Staff is very attentive and friendly, and the facility is clean, safe, and appropriately climate controlled. I highly recommend this place to anyone whose looking for reliable storage!

Great facility!

Move in was easy, the ramps to the second floor were definitely a big help. It was raining on our moving day (naturally), so the ability to pull our truck into the building and unload under cover was GREAT! Only slight downside with the experience so far is the fact that the 10x20 unit I rented is not actually 10x20, it is fine for my needs since I oversized on the unit anyway. I think the square footage is the same, but just a heads up if you need an exact footprint.

Stored my RV there on HWY 280 in Birmingham for 16 months. Never had any issues at all. Pretty easy to park there. Hwy 280 traffic was never a problem once you figure out the best ways in and out of traffic flows. The location was convenient and not too far from I-459. Automatic payment drafts also worked well. Never a problem. Recommend people give them a try, especially if you need an indoor storage facility. You can actually drive into the building to load and unload. The place is huge!

It was easy to rent online. I called the call center first to verify sizes (website marked call on certain sizes). Call center was helpful. Signed up online. Then Ashley called to introduce and explain how they work. Very pleasant and helpful. Looking forward to moving in.

I highly recommend iStorage Self Storage. I had a unit here with previous ownership and my most recent experience with new ownership was no different. The customer service and ease of access has been outstanding. I also like the ability to shop for, reserve, and rent storage units online. I think the prices are extremely competitive and it might be hard to find better pricing anywhere else.

Helpful staff and was a quick process to get set up!

First, I want to say the people working at iStorage who helped me get a solid highest grade, both were knowledgeable, polite, fun and efficient. The facility as a whole gets better than 4 stars. My issue is that I rented a small space advertised as 6 feet by 2.5 feet. The space is smaller in both dimensions than advertised. My items would not fit due to the smaller than advertised size. I had to stack my heavy smoker on top of other items. A few inches cheated on a larger space might not be a big deal, but it’s a big deal for me when I think I’m getting 72” by 30” and actually it’s 65” by 26”.

Friendly staff. Great prices. If you get an upper level unit, they have a very convenient ramp. You can drive inside the climate controlled area, so you don't have to load an unload in the elements.

I love istorage. I had to get this storage on short notice and just picked the one closest to me so I was a little nervous at first. The people that work here are so helpful and kind! The prices are great and affordable, I will definitely use them from now on!

We have used this storage facility to store some of our daughter's things over the past two summers. It is conveniently located near her college and the manager, Darius, is very easy to work with since we only need the unit from mid-May to late August. The payment website is easy to use and the facility is very clean and secure.

The process was quick and easy and the cost is really fair. The facility is clean and user friendly. I have a 30 ft pull behind camper and they leave enough room for you to maneuver with ease.

I would definitely recommend this storage facility. It is very nice, well lit, climate control as set in their policy. The facility is well maintained and clean. The staff is amazing. They are very helpful. If you need assistance outside of office hours, there is no issue with getting a response. They are very nice people. I give them 5 stars and definitely recommend this storage facility. I have rented in other storage facilities prior and this is by the far the best overall.

Darius Hill was excellent when assisting me to reserve and purchase storage for my husband's food truck. It was a Saturday and we weren't going to make it to the location before closing time, but Darius provided multiple options and stayed late so my husband would be able to gain access to the storage once his event was over. I was in another state at the time and my husband was working his event. So, without Darius's patience and extra time, I was able to provide what was needed electronically and he got the reservation completed. Thanks Darius, you were a Godsend and you are a huge asset to iStorage. Now whenever I hear someone say that they are looking for storage, I will immediately think of and recommend them to Darius and iStorage. He should be promoted or given a raise immediately. Staff is warm and professional. Scharlotte made my experience there the best i have had in any customer service interaction.

Yesterday I rented a storage unit here, and found the staff to be professional, helpful, and friendly. They answered all questions thoroughly. The units are indoors, easily accessible, and user-friendly because of the abundant supply of pull carts. Even the guy at the call center, whom I spoke with in the initial call, was helpful, friendly, and even funny. Until today I’ve never written a Google review but this one is inspired by gratitude.

I recently purchased an RV that was already being stored at this location. Today I went by to put the 'space' in my name. Sharlotte was very helpful in making that happen. She was a pleasure to deal with and this Simply Storage location is very convenient for my storage needs.

Just moved to the Birmingham area and needed storage, Simply Self Storage has the best prices in the area and climate controlled! Scharlotte called as soon as one was available for me and told me everything I needed to bring with me. She was amazing to work with! I was so scatter brained and got lost, but she had everything ready to go for me and led me in the right direction. I was in and out of the office in 10 minutes while my husband was already loading our unit. Couldn't ask for a better experience!

Schalotte could not have been more pleasant or professional as I checked into to rent a storage unit. She personally walked me to the unit to verify it was satisfactory, discussed all aspects of the rental contract, showed me how to open the garage doors at both ends of the tunnel, and opened the entry garage door from the office the first time I attempted to enter the tunnel so that I wouldn’t need to stay away from the 20 ft U-Haul truck any longer than necessary. A perfect employee from this customer’s perspective.

I was in a bind, moving from Atlanta to Birmingham and needed a storage unit to move into within 24 hours. The ease in which they got me into a unit was incredible and at a great price! The staff is incredibly helpful and was even willing to stay after hours for me to arrive from Atlanta with all my belongings and get me checked in. Very thankful for them and definitely recommend them.

Relocating and needed a storage unit. I went to Simply Self Storage and was impressed with the time Darius took to show me the physical size of the units and tour of the facility. I ultimately went with a 10x10 climate controlled unit, and the drive in feature of the facility is a nice bonus. The only negatives here are that some halls have 36 inch doorways, which could make moving large items in and out more difficult. Also, they do not yet have elevators, so ramps are used to move supplies to the 2nd floor units. Elevators are supposed to be installed in the next couple months according to Darius at SSS.

Nate, the manager, was wonderful to work with. My move from out of state to Birmingham was made as stress free as possible, thanks to Nate. When I rented to small of a unit (prior to our move) Nate generously worked with my husband and I to transfer into a larger unit. This happened to be after hours on a weekend! Not many people go above and beyond like Nate!

After selling my home I needed a clean, secure, climate controlled temporary home for everything I owned and worked so hard for. I needed someone I could trust. Some people may think there is not a lot to consider when renting a storage unit. You pay your rent, visit your storage unit when you need to get something or put something in, and that's all there is to it. I disagree. Nate, the property manager treated me like family from the time I walked into the office. After all, I am basically moving into his house. Although I did not see Nate for five weeks while he protected all of my belongings, when I walked into the main entrance, an hour before they opened, he was already there and greeted me by name with a smile. Moving is stressful. Do yourself a favor and let Nate take care of you and your belongings until you can take your belongings back home with you.
