Do I need Insurance?
Yes, insurance is a requirement for any storage unit. If you have homeowners or renter's insurance, it may also extend to your storage unit. Please check your coverage with your agent to see whether storage coverage is included or can be added to your policy. If you do not have your insurance, we require SBOA Tenant Insurance for your items. It is recommended that customers utilize our plan even if they are using their homeowners or renter's policy, as it prevents your insurance premiums from going up in the event of a claim and pays out prior to insurance claims.
Is Month to Month Leasing Offered?
All leases we offer are month-to-month. Whether you only need storage for a month or longer, there is no need to sign an additional lease to accommodate a greater need. Stay for as long as you will need storage without fear of lengthy commitments. While you are welcome to utilize your storage unit for less than a month, prepayment of one month is required and will not be prorated if your use is less than one month.
What documents do I need to reserve a storage unit?
A valid driver's license or Government-issued photo ID is required to rent a unit.
Is There Anything I Can't Store?
Certain items cannot be stored in your storage unit at ANY time. Here is the following list of things:
- Perishables
- Food Items, including canned/sealed goods – even water bottles
- Animals
- Stolen Property
- Hazardous or Flammable Materials
- Drugs
- Explosives/Firearms/Ammunition
- Unregistered Vehicles
- People/Yourself, i.e., seeking shelter from a storage unit
- Anything Illegal
How can I pay my rent each month for my storage unit?
We offer many convenient ways to pay at our locations: automatic payments can be set up, credit card, check, and cash; online, in-person, and phone payments.
What is the difference between access hours and office hours?
Access hours are when our customers can access their units and either load or unload them. Office hours are the hours our office is open for business. Things that you may need during office hours include rent payment – should you opt to pay in person – purchase of additional moving supplies, and transferring or vacating a unit.

Moving is always stressful but I was able to take some of that away by easily renting a storage unit without even stopping by. I simply went online, found the size I needed and signed the lease electronically. Simple and easy. Great pricing for the unit as well. They were running a special so I was able to get a big unit for half the cost!

I couldn't ask for more than the tremendous customer service I've received over the years from manager Mike Miller. There are other storage options in the area but as long as Mike's there I'll be a customer.
I've rented a covered RV space at their other location since January. I'm moving out of my apartment and ran out of wrapping paper. I last purchased it from the office where I rent the RV space but they were out of it. The manager called the manager at this location who still had some. When I got to the office the manager gave the paper to me without charge. He said it was old stock he couldn't sell. I was pleasantly surprised. Moving is such an ordeal, especially when you're elderly his kindness made a difficult day brighter.
The manager is awesome here. He is the only reason I stay.

Everyone Is So Nice. And Friendly. They Explain Everything To You. They Answer Your Questions.
The property is clean and tidy. However, the handicap parking spot near the front door of the office is sort of pointless because a motorcycle was parked on the sidewalk, blocking the handicap access/wheelchair ramp. I needed to use that ramp on my first visit, because of disability, and was unable to do so because of the motorcycle. Additionally, when I met with the very nice young man in the office, he gave me a lot of info about my storage experience, told me how to get to my unit, but failed to explain the magic trick to open the storage unit door. Fortunately, I found the handyman, and he kindly showed me how to get the door to open. Over all, my experience has been good so far with the exception of those two big issues. Additionally, I noticed there is a restroom on the side of the office building. Is that always accessible or do I need to get a key from the office? My experience with Mike and Alex was perfect. I told them what I needed and they made suggestions. They were friendly, knew their inventory and I received just what I needed. My business was completed quickly and I had a contract and was made aware of the rules and financial obligations. I changed my needs the day after my first rental ( with Mike) and changed the unit the next day (with Alex) because I realized I needed an outside unit, not an inside unit (because of very heavy items to unload). They both gave me excellent service. Thank you!
Very clean place
I've been aa customer of this facility for about (or iver) 20 years. It is amazing clean, well maintained, and the oon-site Manager Mike is the BEST! Great customer service, helpful, and super friendly. I recently vacated my locker and literally didn't remember my locker number since it had been so long since I accessed it - I could be the poster child for everything you shouldn't do with a storage locker! Mike provided the needed information and I believe was truly sorry to see me go - he has been wonderful from the beginning. If I EVER need a locker again, it's my "go to". Anyone who has been in there with me now or in the past is shocked at how well kept everything is. Thanks to Mike for many years of wonderful storage and service!

Carla was friendly and extremely helpful in helping me select the right size for my furniture. She showed me the exact unit I would be renting and offered me several things to help with me move if I needed them. Very fast and efficient.
The onsite manager is really nice and super easy to work with. The units are very clean and each one has its own individual light in it which is highly unusual for a storage place, but its so nice to have!

A nice, secure storage facility, manager is easy to get along with. The units are climate controlled and alarmed. A 10x10 unit will run about a dollar per square foot, maybe a few cents more. Units are clean.

Secure and Clean Storage! St. Helens Secure Storage is a very secure and clean facility. With a gated and password controlled enterance, only those with with storage unit number and password are allowed access by an electronic key pad. They offer heated and air conditioned units and units of all sizes. Very competitive rates and active rat control. PROS: Clean, secure, active rat control CONS: Not open 24 hours, office is sometimes closed during lunch time
