Small Self Storage Units can be available in sizes like 5x5, 5x10, and up to 5x15. The 5x5 unit, similar to a small closet, is great for storing items like a dresser, a small bookshelf, and a few moving boxes. If you need more space, our 5x15 units, comparable to a walk-in closet, can comfortably hold furnishings from a one-bedroom apartment, including a sofa, mattresses, and numerous large boxes.

Medium Self Storage Units

Medium Self Storage Units spanning 10x10 to 10x15, are designed for substantial storage needs. The 10x10 option, comparable to half of a standard one-car garage, holds contents from two bedrooms, including nightstands, bedframes, mattresses, dressers, and assorted moving boxes. For larger storage requirements, the 10x15 unit, akin to a small one-car garage, provides plenty of space for three bedrooms of furniture or an entire medium-sized apartment's belongings.

Large Self Storage Units

Large Self Storage Units can be offered in sizes of 10x20, 10x25, and 10x30, providing ample space for larger items. The 10x20 unit, comparable to a standard one-car garage, is ideal for storing the contents of a small house or multi-bedroom apartment, such as full living room and kitchen sets, along with two bedrooms' worth of furniture. The 10x25 unit, similar to an oversized one-car garage, can comfortably fit a car or furniture from a medium-sized home, encompassing bedroom sets, appliances, and whole living and dining room sets. The 10x30 unit, mirroring a one-and-a-half car garage, is spacious enough to store belongings from a 5-bedroom house, including large appliances, TVs, sofas, dining and bedroom sets, and a substantial number of large boxes.

SecurCare Self Storage FAQ

Do I need Insurance?

Yes, insurance is a requirement for any storage unit. If you have homeowners or renter's insurance, it may also extend to your storage unit. Please check your coverage with your agent to see whether storage coverage is included or can be added to your policy. If you do not have your insurance, we require SBOA Tenant Insurance for your items. It is recommended that customers utilize our plan even if they are using their homeowners or renter's policy, as it prevents your insurance premiums from going up in the event of a claim and pays out prior to insurance claims.

Is Month to Month Leasing Offered?

All leases we offer are month-to-month. Whether you only need storage for a month or longer, there is no need to sign an additional lease to accommodate a greater need. Stay for as long as you will need storage without fear of lengthy commitments. While you are welcome to utilize your storage unit for less than a month, prepayment of one month is required and will not be prorated if your use is less than one month.

What documents do I need to reserve a storage unit?

A valid driver's license or Government-issued photo ID is required to rent a unit.

Is There Anything I Can't Store?

Certain items cannot be stored in your storage unit at ANY time. Here is the following list of things:

  • Perishables
  • Food Items, including canned/sealed goods – even water bottles
  • Animals
  • Stolen Property
  • Hazardous or Flammable Materials
  • Drugs
  • Explosives/Firearms/Ammunition
  • Unregistered Vehicles
  • People/Yourself, i.e., seeking shelter from a storage unit
  • Anything Illegal

How can I pay my rent each month for my storage unit?

We offer many convenient ways to pay at our locations: automatic payments can be set up, credit card, and cash; online, in-person, and phone payments.

What is the difference between access hours and office hours?

Access hours are when our customers can access their units and either load or unload them. Office hours are the hours our office is open for business. Things that you may need during office hours include rent payment – should you opt to pay in person – purchase of additional moving supplies, and transferring or vacating a unit.

This has been a big issue at this specific facility. It’s been over a month and still isn’t fixed. Also they decided to keep the gate locked on Sundays? This isn’t fair to us as customers, when we agreed to our rental agreement we were told we would have access 7 days a week with early morning access to our units. It was really easy and convenient to store here! Everyone I talked to was friendly, helpful, and really nice. It was also easy to leave my stuff for a few extra days longer than planned. Thanks! I left my car here for several weeks in a unit while I traveled. This storage unit is also close to the Bakersfield Airport, which is nice, too.

Great Location, has freeway access. Other storage facilities nearby not nearly as nice or bang for your buck. Good manager on site/helpful as he answered many questions. Great hours to get on and off property. Will recommend to others!

Couldn't bee better. i moved from Derrels in China Grade to this space it was closer to home and i got a bigger space for a great price the office staff were pleasant very informative I always find myself in a good conversation with them when i drop by the other nite i locked myself in for being in the gate after closing the after hours contact person was very pleasant after we got us out the was a follow up call to check on our status . I fully recommend this outfit
