On the larger end, the 5x15 unit offers a walk-in closet space, ideal for storing a sofa, mattresses, and several large moving boxes from a one-bedroom apartment.
Medium Self Storage Units
Medium Self Storage Units spanning 10x10 to 10x15, are designed for substantial storage needs. The 10x10 option, comparable to half of a standard one-car garage, holds contents from two bedrooms, including nightstands, bedframes, mattresses, dressers, and assorted moving boxes. For larger storage requirements, the 10x15 unit, akin to a small one-car garage, provides plenty of space for three bedrooms of furniture or an entire medium-sized apartment's belongings.
Large Self Storage Units
Large Self Storage Units can be offered in sizes of 10x20, 10x25, and 10x30, providing ample space for larger items. The 10x20 unit, comparable to a standard one-car garage, is ideal for storing the contents of a small house or multi-bedroom apartment, such as full living room and kitchen sets, along with two bedrooms' worth of furniture. Do I need Insurance?
Yes, insurance is a requirement for any storage unit. If you have homeowners or renter's insurance, it may also extend to your storage unit. Please check your coverage with your agent to see whether storage coverage is included or can be added to your policy. If you do not have your insurance, we require SBOA Tenant Insurance for your items. It is recommended that customers utilize our plan even if they are using their homeowners or renter's policy, as it prevents your insurance premiums from going up in the event of a claim and pays out prior to insurance claims.
Is Month to Month Leasing Offered?
All leases we offer are month-to-month. Whether you only need storage for a month or longer, there is no need to sign an additional lease to accommodate a greater need. Stay for as long as you will need storage without fear of lengthy commitments. While you are welcome to utilize your storage unit for less than a month, prepayment of one month is required and will not be prorated if your use is less than one month.
What documents do I need to reserve a storage unit?
A valid driver's license or Government-issued photo ID is required to rent a unit.
Is There Anything I Can't Store?
Certain items cannot be stored in your storage unit at ANY time. Here is the following list of things:
- Perishables
- Food Items, including canned/sealed goods – even water bottles
- Animals
- Stolen Property
- Hazardous or Flammable Materials
- Drugs
- Explosives/Firearms/Ammunition
- Unregistered Vehicles
- People/Yourself, i.e., seeking shelter from a storage unit
- Anything Illegal
How can I pay my rent each month for my storage unit?
We offer many convenient ways to pay at our locations: automatic payments can be set up, credit card, check, and cash; online, in-person, and phone payments.
What is the difference between access hours and office hours?
Access hours are when our customers can access their units and either load or unload them. Office hours are the hours our office is open for business. Things that you may need during office hours include rent payment – should you opt to pay in person – purchase of additional moving supplies, and transferring or vacating a unit.

What an amazing group of people. I won four units at auction and the property manager was awesome. I showed up the last day possible to move my units and wasn't able to get everything but property manager was able to work out a deal for me to come get everything moved on another day. This is a good facility for off site storage of your items because of several reasons, with number 1 being the facility manager Vicki. In June 2019, I unexpectedly needed a quick place to store household items and located Big Blue Self Storage on the internet. Following up with a phone call I reached Vicki and she guided me through the process over the phone, making the task super easy. With my moving truck arriving in a few days I guessed I needed to rent 2 units, one climate controlled and one not, in order to have enough room for my furniture. Both units were clean and well maintained. Vicki even volunteered to show the semi truck where the units were if I couldn’t be there in time for them to unload. My movers were great and I was surprised they were able to put everything into the climate controlled unit so I didn’t need the other unit that I had paid for but never used. While the storage policy is no refunds for part of a month, because of my unique circumstances Vicki made a request to the owner that I receive credit for the unused rental days. Fortunately they agreed to do this and applied the credit to the one storage unit I did need. Here are the reasons I would store here again: 1) manager Vicki 2) clean and maintained 3) easy access anytime with gate code 4) making payments is easy with available choices 5) good location 6) no issues to deal with-probably because Vicki makes things run smoothly.
